QUETTA: Three policemen – including a station house officer (SHO) and a constable – were killed during a quarrel near Eastern Bypass area of Quetta on Tuesday.
According to the initial police reports, SHO Noor Bux Mengal and a constable exchanged ‘hot words’ after which the constable opened fire on the SHO – whose guards then engaged retaliatory firing, Superintendent Police (SP) Sariyab Abdullah Jan Afridi said.
The SHO, constable and another policeman were killed on the spot. Their bodies have been shifted to Quetta’s Civil Hospital for post-mortem. Authorities timely reached the area and an investigation is underway.
