SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik, has said that the Kashmiri people have been striving to attain freedom from Indian occupation for the past several decades and their sentiments are well known.
Malik labelled the killing of civilians by Indian troops in the garb of armed encounters as state terrorism.
The JKLF leader said that the intimidating statements made by Indian Army Chief, ministers and police were encouraging this ugly trend of innocent killings, a press release issued on Saturday said.
The JKLF Chief said that as the overwhelming majority of Kashmir stands with the cause of freedom, the recent statements made by Indian officials were actually direct threats to the Kashmiris.
“Today Indian Army Chief, ministers, and other officials want to repeat the 1990’s era and push thousands of peaceful resistance lovers towards an armed struggle by issuing such ridiculous and threatening statements. This indicates their lack of political maturity and human sensitivity,” he added.
