LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has extended good luck and best wishes for Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi, playing Pakistan Super League final in Lahore.
In a tweet, Imran also appreciated participation of the public in the closing ceremony and final of the PSL at Gaddadi Stadium on Sunday.
The PTI chief also prayed for safety of everyone during the mega event’s final.
Separately, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief SirajulHaq has appreciated efforts for the revival of cricket in the country and termed it a puff of fresh air in an atmosphere of tension, lawlessness and corruption.
Addressing a public meeting on Sunday, he; however, said tickets were beyond the reach of the masses as the rulers had levied taxes even on games and sports.
A number of locals of the area, including Jahangir, Haji Nek Muhammad, Ismail Khel, Haji Akbar Khan, Qismat Khan, Nazim, Haji SherZareen, announced to joining the JI on the occasion.
SirajulHaq said that both teams playing the PSL final were Pakistanis and the victory of either would be a matter of joy for the nation. He said that the presence of foreigner players and officials at the match was a welcome sign.
He said that the rulers had been busy in loot and plunder, and had stashed billions of rupees in foreign accounts.
