CHARSADDA: Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah on Monday said that the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership, who claimed to be so-called champions of ‘change’ did not know its meaning in the real sense.
The party had wasted three and a half years while being in the government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he said while addressing a public meeting here. Local PTI leader Naeem Khan Umerzai on the occasion joined the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP). Former federal minister Najmuddin Khan, PPP leaders Liaquat Shabab and Zahir Ali Shah were also present in the meeting.
He said that the real change occurred when the people were provided due facilities of education, health and justice, jobs and control on price hike. The government had failed on all counts, he added.
The PPP leader said that in 2008 when his party came into power, terrorism was at its peak in the country, but despite all odds, the PPP government gave autonomy to the provinces and made the federating units master of the resources where it were being produced. Pakhtoons were given identity while employees’ salaries were increased, he added.
He said that the PPP would continue to serve the poor segments of the society, peasants and labourers, besides making efforts to make Pakistan a strong, stable and prosperous country.
