Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz’s Vice President and former first daughter, Maryam Nawaz’s plea seeking seeking return of her passport has been adjourned till December 24. During the legal proceedings in Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday National Accountability Bureau (NAB) requested the judge to extend time for submission of reply which was approved by the court.
Earlier on last Monday, the Lahore High Court (LHC) had directed the federal government’s review committee to decide Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Maryam Nawaz’s application for removal of her name from the Exit Control List (ECL) within seven days.
Maryam has requested the court to direct the government to remove her name from the Exit Control List (ECL) as she wishes to go abroad for six weeks. The federal government, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the Immigration and Passport authority have been named parties in the petition.
In the petition, Maryam has expressed reservations for her father’s health and requested the court to allow her to travel abroad so she can take care of him. She requested for her passport to be returned to her from the deputy registrar judiciary.
